Taxpayers now have access to a digital calendar designed to guide them on tax payment deadlines and compliance requirements, a Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) official said on Thursday.
BIR spokesperson and lawyer Brianna Kay delos Santos said the interactive digital tax calendar has been available on the BIR website since Jan. 1.
In a Bagong Pilipinas Ngayon interview, delos Santos said the tool aims to provide the public with a centralized and accessible source of information on tax filing deadlines and related requirements.
She said the calendar was designed to be interactive and user-friendly to help taxpayers comply with their obligations.
“To increase voluntary compliance, we made it easier for the taxpaying public,” delos Santos said.
Delos Santos said the BIR plans to integrate the digital calendar into the eGovPH mobile application but intends to familiarize the public with the platform first.
She added that the calendar includes a link that users of the electronic Filing and Payment System (eFPS) can use to pay their taxes.
Non-eFPS users, she said, can view the applicable tax forms on the calendar but must settle their dues through the eBIR portal for now.
