The Bureau of Local Employment (BLE) on Wednesday reported that more than 2.6 million job seekers nationwide have been employed since 2024 through the Public Employment Service Offices (PESOs).

"There are a total of 2.6 million job applicants that have successfully found jobs (through the PESOs)," BLE Director Patrick Patriwirawan said during the Bagong Pilipinas Ngayon briefing.

Patriwirawan noted that PESOs have high placement rates for job applicants, at about 94 percent.

He also reported that 5.7 million job vacancies have been solicited by PESOs from employers since last year and about 3 million job applicants have been registered with PESOs nationwide.

The PESO is an employment service facility established in all key towns and cities, in coordination with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).

It is mandated to assist those who are looking for jobs, provide referral, and serve as an information center for services and programs with adequate information on employment and labor market situations in the area.

Patriwirawan said there are 1,592 PESOs nationwide, 794 of which are institutionalized or with plantilla positions, regular budget, and physical offices.
