The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) earned two major honors at the Governance Commission for GOCCs (GCG) Awards on Dec. 1, reinforcing its standing as one of the country’s top-performing government corporations.

PAGCOR received a 99.92 percent score on its 2024 Performance Evaluation Scorecard and won the Sustainability Award for its “exemplary efforts in upholding sustainability values and best practices in corporate governance.”

Chairman and CEO Alejandro Tengco said the awards reflect PAGCOR’s progress in improving operations, strengthening regulatory systems, and ensuring revenues support essential public programs.

“Our strong scorecard rating and the Sustainability Award highlight our commitment to transparency, good governance, and nation-building,” he said. “These awards affirm the work we have done to make PAGCOR a transparent, accountable, and high-performing GOCC.”

Tengco added that PAGCOR will continue to “raise the bar of government service” by channeling revenues into vital social services and community upliftment.

In 2024, PAGCOR remitted P68.20 billion to nation-building initiatives, supporting infrastructure, disaster response, and other community programs. Its consistent dividend remittances to the National Treasury also fund priority efforts in health care, sports development, and renewable energy.

“Good governance must translate to real service for the Filipino people,” Tengco said. “We ensure that every peso generated is directed toward programs that protect livelihoods, enhance infrastructure, and support national development.”

The GCG Awards annually recognize GOCCs that demonstrate exceptional performance and accountability. PAGCOR’s dual honors underscore its operational gains and continued commitment to responsible gaming and national progress.
