More than 99 percent of Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) transactions from January to June 2025 were processed online, as it ramped up its digital services under the banner of “digital GINHAWA.”
GSIS President and General Manager Arnulfo Veloso said the digital shift has brought “comfort, accessibility, and peace of mind” to its members and pensioners, with services such as loan applications, information inquiries, and pensioners’ compliance now available through the GSIS Touch app and GWAPS (GSIS Wireless Automated Processing System) kiosks.
“Applying for loans, checking records, and accessing benefits can all be done with just a few taps on your phone,” Veloso said in a news release Thursday.
Data from the pension fund showed a consistent rise in digital transactions.
Online loan applications accounted for 98.5 percent in the first quarter and increased to 99.1 percent in the second quarter.
Loan computation requests stayed above 99.5 percent, while all member information inquiries were conducted digitally.
The Annual Pensioners’ Information Revalidation (APIR), a key requirement for pensioners, also saw high digital uptake, with 95 percent processed through GSIS Touch and GWAPS in the first quarter -- climbing to 97 percent in the second quarter.
GSIS said the GSIS Touch app, with over 2 million registered users, enables members, both local and overseas, to access services anytime, including loan monitoring, benefits tracking, and APIR compliance.
“We are committed to expand our digital services so that every member can experience digital GINHAWA, wherever they are,” Veloso said, encouraging members to keep their app updated and contact details current.
