The Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) is partnering with the Land Bank of the Philippines (LandBank) in a significant move toward modernizing government services.
In a meeting on October 6, DHSUD Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling discussed with key officials from the LandBank the department’s digitalization plan and streamlining efforts.
At the forefront of the discussions was DHSUD’s plan to adopt online payment systems for public transactions through LandBank’s digital platform.
This initiative forms part of a broader strategy to enhance efficiency, transparency, and convenience in government services.
Aliling is aiming for the full digitalization of the DHSUD by 2028.
He said this is in line with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s directive for all government institutions to streamline operations and embrace digital solutions.
Representing LandBank at the meeting were Vice President Hansen Chu and Branch Head Angelina Corazon Du.
Meanwhile, Aliling was joined by Senior Undersecretary Sharon Faith Paquiz, Undersecretaries Odilon Pasaraba and Ramon Quintin Allado, along with other high-ranking DHSUD officials.
The proposed partnership will not only pave the way for online payments for housing-related services but also contribute to a more responsive and transparent delivery of public service —eliminating long queues, reducing paperwork, and minimizing human error.
Moving forward, further technical meetings and system integration planning are expected to formalize the agreement and begin pilot implementations.
