PRESIDENT Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., asked the support of employers, workers, and other stakeholders, in order to have a full recovery of the labor market.
The president said that this is amid economic challenges that the country is facing.
“As we pursue a progressive and inclusive Bagong Pilipinas, I thus call on everyone—employers, workers, government, and stakeholders alike—to remain united in ensuring the full recovery of the labor market,” Marcos said in his speech that was read by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin.
“So, let us continue to work together to produce not only more jobs, but also quality and meaningful employment that will uplift the lives and dignity of every Filipino worker,” the President said.
Likewise Marcos made the statement amid the report from the Philippine Statistics Authority which stated that the number of jobless Filipinos had declined to 2.09 million in October.
This is the lowest since November 2022.
Likewise the employment rate for the period stood at 95.8%.
It is the highest since April, and translates to 47.80 million employed out of the 49.89 million people in the labor force.
“Rest assured that promoting labor protection and industrial peace remain among the top priorities of this administration, as they are the keys to developing the full potential of our workers and harnessing their productivity towards nation-building,” Marcos said.
