President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Friday inaugurated the Bagong Pilipinas eGovPH Serbisyo Hub (BPESH), a one-stop shop that will facilitate the delivery of faster, simpler, and more convenient public services to Filipinos.
“We have always aspired to actually being able to do a one-stop shop where you just go in one place and everything is there. And this is now what we are inaugurating here in San Juan,” Marcos said during the launch of the BPESH at the Makabagong San Juan National Government Center (MSJ-NGC) in San Juan City.
“But as I said, it is not only here in Luzon, Metro Manila. We will also do the same thing for all the local governments around the country.”
Marcos acknowledged that it takes more than a day to get a normal clearance from government offices due to long queues.
The government, he said, is making strides in simplifying, expediting, and enhancing public access to government services.
“And I think with the system that we have put together, I am very, very optimistic that this will make things much easier,” he said.
With the launch of the BPESH, Marcos said, his administration has taken a step further and “finally moved into the 21st century.”
“It’s a very, very important development because we are trying to make things easier for our kababayan (countrymen) so they can go about their business na hindi naman sila nahihirapan (without any difficulty),” he said.
“This makes things much, much easier. That is why the aspiration here is we will even go one step further for those people na medyo malayo sa poblacion, malayo sa opisina ng national agency, ay mas mabibigyan ng pagkakataon basta’t may connectivity (those who are a bit far from the poblacion, far from the national agency office, so they would be given more opportunities, so long as there is connectivity).”
The President also encouraged the public to use and explore the eGovPH Super App, a mobile application that serves as a one-stop online shop that integrates front-line government services into a single platform, enabling citizens to make transactions without the need to go to offices.
He said the eGov app has been recognized by several organizations in the international community as “a very, very good application.”
“We are very proud of this eGov app not only because it is really an enormous step in making things more convenient for our people,” he said. “We can just keep moving and eventually, all the payments that you can make, you can do it now over the eGov app through electronic banking. So, that’s a very, very large advantage.”
The BPESH has been rolling out its services since its soft launch on June 2 at the MSJ-NGC, the first strategically located venue chosen to host the one-stop shop.
The government is also eyeing the rollout of more BPESH in strategic locations nationwide.
