POWER distributor Manila Electric Company (Meralco) has issued an appeal to customers not to participate in the viral trend of showing their respective bills for the month.
According to the company, people should avoid participating in the "Meralco bill reveal challenge" circulating on social media.
They said that the challenge encourages or dares netizens to share their Customer Account Number (CAN) online.
However, for Meralco, it exposes the revealers details will also be exposed.
The country's largest distribution utility said it exposes the CAN and other personal details on social media, as scammers or other unscrupulous individuals could use this information.
