The National Grid of the Philippines (NGCP) has fully restored the power transmission lines in Luzon affected by Super Typhoon Uwan (international name Fung-wong) following the normalization of the La Trinidad-Sagada 69-kiloVolt (kV) line on Friday night.

In an 8 p.m. advisory, the NGCP said the La Trinidad-Sagada 69kV line was restored at around 7:16 p.m. of Fridaty.

“Transmission services in all areas affected by Super Typhoon Uwan are now under normal operations,” it said.

“NGCP assures the public that it is continuously monitoring weather disturbances and is ready to activate its Overall Command Center (OCmC) should there be any threat to its transmission facilities.”

The Department of Energy (DOE) earlier said full restoration of Uwan-affected transmission lines are expected within a month, but officials assured the public that all measures are being done to expedite the process.

Provinces badly hit by Uwan are the Mountain Province, Camarines Norte and Camarines Sur, DOE officials said.
