A P230-million socialized housing building will rise in Lapu-Lapu City that will benefit 200 families.
Lapu-Lapu City Mayor Junard Ahong Chan said each unit in the five-story housing project will measure 24 square meters.
“The funds are already available and the property has already been donated. So we can implement the project right away,” Chan told the Philippine News Agency, adding that the project is in line with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino (4PH) program.
Chan said a private real estate company, Johndorf Ventures Corporation, donated the two-hectare lot in Barangay Calawisan here.
Another project in Barangay Canjulao will also be constructed soon.
Chan said the Department of Environment and Natural Resources required the local government to name the tax declaration of the 25-hectare area under its name.
On March 25, 2003, then-president Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, through Proclamation No. 346, declared the 25-hectare area as an urban development and socialized housing site.
