THE country’s flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) said that they are looking to fly to a new destination to the United States, via direct flight.

The new direct flight from Manila to a new US destination is being targetted by the third quarter next year.

PAL President and COO Stanley Ng said that at present, he cannot divulge the exact location of the city in the United States, but gave a clue that it is in the West Coast. 

Likewise, Ng said that they are still studying various options so it will depend on the leased plane.

“Sa US, may possibility na maka launch tayo ng additional destination. Pinag-aaralan pa nila,” said Ng.

The United States is still the biggest market for PAL with direct flights from Manila to New York, San Francisco and Los Angeles, as well as Honolulu and Guam. 

The recent entry of United Airlines in the Philippines-US route did not affect the frequency of flights and passengers of PAL.

“Definitely mas marami ang demand kay sa supply, with United Airlines providing that supply, it’s not affecting the load factor of PAL at the moment,” said Ng.
