THE Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) said they had recorded a record breaking one-day sales of P265 million on January 16, 2024.
"The amount was the highest recorded one-day sales in over five years or since October 14, 2018, when the prize pot hit P1.18 billion," the PCSO said.
The agency said that this is because of the "Handog Pakabog" Christmas draws on December 16 as to why their sales increased.
Earlier the PCSO had raised the minimum guaranteed prize of the Grand Lotto 6/55, the UltraLotto 6/58, and, later on, SuperLotto 6/49 to P500 million each, and the jackpot prize of Lotto 6/42 and Mega Lotto 6/45 to P100 million each towards the end of 2023.
It will be recalled that on Tuesday, a lone winner was able to get the 6/49 jackpot of P640,654,817.60 with the combination 26-33-14-48-06-42.
It will be recalled that on December 29 a government employee from Albay got the Ultra Lotto 6/58 draw, won the P571 million jackpot.
