THE logistics partner of e-commerce platform Shopee, SPX Express launched their  largest sorting center in Calamba, Laguna.

According to the company, it can handle over 3 million parcels per day.
 

In a statement, SPX Express head Martin Yu said that the 25,000-sqm facility is their first fully automated sorting center.

It has machines that can scan the packages and sort them per destination automatically. 

It will likewise employ over a thousand workers.

Likewisem Yu said that in terms of capacity, the Calamba center is being bragged as the company's largest in Southeast Asia.

“Being automated, this state-of-the-art facility has smart cameras scanning the parcels, reading the airway bills, making sure it moves through as quickly as possible with minimal delays,” he added.

With an automated sorting center will speed up the delivery process, the small parcels stay at the facility for only a few minutes before being sorted out and transferred to the delivery van.

Larger parcels or sacks will be processed in just an hour.
