POPULAR social media app TikTok said that they are expecting an increase in their users and the buyers in their shops during the holiday season.
In a statement, they said that they are banking on the “shoppertainment” with the key driver for their growth, in particular to the Filipino users.
Tiktok’s Vertical Head for F&B Philippines, Life Dawn Cervero said that as based on the commissioned study done by Toluna, “shoppertainment” or “shopping and entertainment” of having a key role this holiday season as to how the spending habits of Filipinos are.
They said that they expect engaging, exciting, and educational experiences through watching videos, before purchasing any items such as gifts or food.
Likewise they said that 94 percent of Filipinos often watch videos in their app as they look for Christmas inspiration, 63 percent on the other hand, said that they are looking as to how Christmas is celebrated around the world.
Some 56 percent on the other hand said they need to connected with family and friends.
A whopping 99 percent on the other hand noted that they are looking forward to ticking off their Christmas gift lists and doing some shopping.
“They’re also looking at trends for the outfits that they can wear for Christmas, the looks that they can do for Christmas, as well as the gifts that they give for their many friends and family,” said Cervero.
