IN a bid to link the entire country to make every Filipino have access to the internet, Information and Communications Technology Ivan John Uy announced that they will try to connect as many households as possible.
Secretary Uy, said that this is through the government's free WiFi program, to which they will tap the ComClark Network and Technology Corp.
The said technology is provided for by the parent Converge ICT.
Information and Communications Secretary Ivan John Uy noted that the partnership is aimed at providing internet to 2,000 geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas across the country.
Meanwhile, the DICT project is said to connect to more Filipinos.
It is said to be costing at around P1.1 billion.
"Bringing internet access to areas that have long been underserved particularly in remote regions where connectivity has remained more than an aspiration than a reality," ComClark COO Benedicto Bulatao said.
