THE Philippines has exceeded the target sales for the year through the China International Import Expo (CIIE) as they had sales that amounted to USD1.1 billion.

According to the Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM) report, the total sales for the 6th CIIE had exceeded the target of the trade and Industry department of USD700 million.

The said event also showed a record-high sales for a Philippine event in a China expo.

The Philippine pavilion at CIIE reached USD655 million in 2022.

Likewise, they said that of the total sales, some USD900 million were purchase agreements while USD226 million were booked sales, sales under negotiation, retail sales, and business-matching activities.

“The CIIE has become an important platform for the country to showcase its best-selling food products and attract potential investors in China, creating new business opportunities and boosting the economy,” DTI Undersecretary Ceferino Rodolfo said in a statement.
