Metro Manila or the National Capital Region (NCR) will remain Shakey’s Pizza Ventures Inc.’s (SPAVI) main growth driver even as it bids to expand outside Metro Manila this year.
SPAVI currently have nearly 300 Shakey’s locations nationwide, with a total of 2,483 stores across all its brands, SPAVI president Vicente Gregorio told reporters Wednesday.
Gregorio earlier said they eye to invest around P1 billion this year as the company marks its 50th anniversary, and plans to add 20 additional restaurants, with half being company-owned and the rest are franchised.
Aside from Shakey’s Pizza, SPAVI operates brands such as Peri-Peri Charcoal Chicken, R&B Milk Tea, Potato Corner, and Project Pie.
Gregorio said Shakey’s is still most present in Metro Manila and in north and south Luzon, but he sees big opportunity for growth in the Visayas and Mindanao.
“There are still great locations (in NCR) that can also further enhance our network and our delivery capabilities,” he said. “Remember, the economy is not yet in the best shape. We believe the potential for growth is for long term,” he said.
