DIADI, Nueva Vizcaya (PIA) – Farmers from Diadi, Nueva Vizcaya are expected to benefit from the irrigation project funded by the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR).

Engineer David  Villanueva, Jr., officer-in-charge of the Provincial Agrarian Reform Office, said the P18 million Namamparan Bungol Communal Irrigation Project will be completed by June this year.

He said the project is funded under the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program and being implemented in partnership with the National Irrigation Administration.

Villanueva said the project is expected to increase the yield of 30 rice farmers who are members of the Agrarian Reform Beneficiary households in the community.

“We have just conducted our onsite inspection and assessment on the ongoing construction of the BCIP which was started in September last year and we are confident of its completion by its target date,” he said.

Villanueva is optimistic that the new irrigation facility will boost food production in the region and contribute to the rice sufficiency agenda of the government.
