CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro (PIA) — The municipality of Baco recorded a total of 19,842 tourist arrivals across its various tourist sites during the observance of Holy Week from April 17 to 21.
Emerging as the most visited attraction during the five-day holiday was Tiboy Rapids located at Barangay Santa Rosa Dos, which logged 6,813 visitors, reaffirming its status as Baco’s premier eco-tourism destination, the Baco Municipal Tourism Office’s report reveals.
Infinity Farm secured the second spot with 3,359 arrivals, while Tagbungan Mountain Resort and Lantuyang River combined for a total of 3,053 visitors.
Other tourism sites such as Hidden Paradise Resort, Delfinity Resort and Bayanan River also experienced a notable influx of tourists, contributing to the municipality’s overall increase in tourist traffic during the Lenten season.
According to the local government unit (LGU) of Baco, the continued rise in tourist arrivals is a result of the town’s lush natural attractions and its steadfast initiatives in preserving the cleanliness, safety and sustainability of its tourism areas.
In an interview by Philippine Information Agency (PIA) Oriental Mindoro, Baco Tourism Operations Officer I Bejay C. Dimalibot emphasized the importance of the municipality’s coordinated efforts to bolster its tourism sector.
“Our Holy Week tourist arrival report reflects our ongoing efforts to promote our attractions. For the past three years, we’ve led the inter-agency summer campaign on safe travels– not just to market our town, but to support our local tourism workers and community,” Dimalibot said.
He added that “This is also part of our LGU’s commitment to make our nature tourism the top destination in the province, and soon, in the MIMAROPA region.”
