Low-cost carrier AirAsia Philippines reported strong performance on Wednesday, registering an average of 85 percent load factor for the first months of 2025, and hitting almost three million passengers for the first half, including forward bookings.

Airline spokesperson Steve Dailisan said 80 percent of the load factor comprised domestic travelers, with Puerto Princesa as the top local destination.

"This strong performance signals positive growth for local tourism. We remain focused on supporting this through initiatives like the AirAsia Fiesta Series and promotional campaigns tied to local festivals, encouraging Filipinos to explore and take part in the cultural festivities across the country," Dailisan said in a statement.

Taipei emerged as the top choice for international travelers.

Starting July 1, AirAsia will increase services to Taipei from 14 to 17 times weekly.

The increase seeks to enhance connectivity and offer greater flexibility for both leisure and business travelers.

Meanwhile, to further entice travelers, AirAsia has an ongoing seat sale, enabling passengers to book one-way base fare for as low as PHP185.

The seat sale is until June 1, for travel until October 31, AirAsia said.
