Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) is set to unveil the all-new Triton pick-up in January next year and is currently taking pre-orders for its new contender in a highly-competitive pick-up segment.
Bearing a new name, the highly anticipated new pick-up model represents a significant transformation in MMPC’s pick-up lineup. It also reflects the company’s unwavering commitment to delivering vehicles that exceed expectations.
The Triton name that replaces the Strada also projects the image of a more advanced and refined pick-up truck that goes beyond limits, indicating that this vehicle is not merely an upgrade but an entirely new experience that enhances life’s journeys.
Drawing inspiration from the Greek mythology where Triton was the powerful god of the sea, the all-new Triton pick-up also symbolizes a powerful figure with its powerful performance and elegant features.
Crafted to endure challenging weather and road conditions, the Triton embodies ruggedness, reliability, and trustworthiness. The all-new Triton also promises secure and comfortable off-road family expeditions, transforming each journey into a remarkable exploration.
All-new design
The all-new exterior design features a more aggressive front fascia with cunning headlights combined with a massive square-shaped grille. It also sports Mitsubishi's iconic Dynamic Shield Design to complete the overall look. The new model also possesses a tougher design, longer overall length, and a wider stance, which exudes a dominating presence on the road.
The Triton is available in seven color variants including the new colors Yamabuki Orange and Blade Silver.
All-new engine
The Mitsubishi Triton houses a newly developed 2.4-liter Bi-Turbo diesel engine with two-stage turbocharger capable of producing 204 PS of power and 470 Nm of maximum torque. It is more responsive and more powerful than the engine found in the Strada.
Also, the improved suspension design with new shock-absorption system ensures excellent comfort even in the harshest terrain.
The all-new Triton now has larger cargo bed space with dimensions of 2,340 mm (length) x 1,580 mm (width) x 515 mm (height) that can fit a Euro palette (120 x 80 cm) crosswise even with a bed-liner. It also has lower bed floor height of 821 mm, making loading and unloading easier and more convenient.
Reimagined interior and safety features
With the driver and passengers in mind, the interior design has been improved to provide a more comfortable and spacious cabin with all important amenities within your reach. The roomier interior is paired with enhanced connectivity options through its new 9-inch display audio system.
Equipped with Forward Collision Mitigation (FCM) with pedestrian detection, and object detection, the Triton offers improved safety of driver and passengers. Triton Athlete variant also has Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA) which alerts the driver via visual and audible warnings if an approaching vehicle is detected when reversing. As added safety, it is also equipped with Multi-Around View Monitor offering safer and confident maneuvering in tight spaces
